GREAT FALLS — The Chili's restaurant in Great Falls is temporarily closed. The restaurant is at 1420 Marketplace Drive in southwest Great Falls.

A sign on the door from the City of Great Falls states the closure was ordered due to fire code violations by order of the Great Falls Fire Marshal.

The sign is dated Wednesday, March 9, 2022.

Great Falls Fire Marshal Michael McIntosh confirmed to MTN on Friday morning that the restaurant has been closed due to fire and mechanical code violations.

McIntosh said the restaurant is in the process of trying to get the violations resolved.

The nature of the violations has not been released.

McIntosh said this has been an ongoing issue since last summer, and that Great Falls Fire Rescue worked with the restaurant to correct those issues and they did, which is why they stayed open during the summer.

However, he said that recently the code violation issues have risen again, and the restaurant has not yet been able to get them corrected.

McIntosh also noted that ordering a restaurant to close is a rare occurrence, and they will stay shut down until they are in full compliance with city code.

MTN called the restaurant on Thursday evening and again on Friday morning; no one answered, nor was there any recorded message.

We will update you if we get more information.
