A must-see place. Best to stick together, as it is like a maze -- you can get easily separated. Wear good hiking shoes; our casual shoes were a little slick on the sandy spots. We drove our minivan there, but we will bring the truck next time. The gravel road is okay, but the dirt road has a few divots and bigger rocks that we dodged. A smaller car would have trouble or damage.

Just visited; this is a great place to go. Bring your hiking boots and spend a few hours. We drove out in a Honda CRV, so a four-wheel drive is not necessary... unless maybe if it's rained recently.

I made a visit to Rock City. Many of the hoodoo formations are 12 to 20 feet tall, and most have the common "hoodoo" big flat tops on them, indicating massive amounts of water and wind erosion over what I would assume is centuries of time.

Rock City is an area off Two Medicine River just a few miles north of the tiny town of Valier, MT. The large sandstone rocks have been cut through by the river and are a lot of fun to climb. The site is occasionally used by the local Blackfeet tribe as a worshipping place, but is mostly just a place to check out wild life, fish or let your kids burn off some energy. Picnics are fun and the scenery is beautiful. One of those great, free things to do on a weekend.
