Allen R. Morris Sr., 76, of Richland, Oregon died on August 7, 2022, in Highwood, Montana.  A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 - 11:00 a.m. at Eagle Valley Cemetery in Richland, Oregon.

Allen Ray was born on August 21, 1945, in Liberal, Kansas to William T. and Chezelle D. Morris.  Married Twila in 1970, had 6 children together and divorced in 1983. Married Tanna in 1998 and became Step-Father to her 3 children.

US Army, SPC-4, 1967-1969, served in Vietnam and earned the following medals & awards: National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge Rifle, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Purple Heart Medal.

Worked as a mechanic during his younger years. He has lived in Kansas, Missouri, California, Oregon and Montana.

Camping and fishing on the Snake River with family and friends, hunting with his sons, playing poker and Dominos, gardening and canning (Dad was famous for his homemade salsa!), and Scuba Diving in his younger years.

A favorite color was blue, he loved summertime on the Snake River.

He taught his children by example and believed in always being truthful no matter what the outcome may bring, and he believed in never breaking a promise.  He always said “A lie is a lie!”, “Always do what you say you’re gonna do!”, “Family always comes first!”, and “It is what it is!”.  Allen would say his children that getting to be their father was his biggest accomplishment in life. His legacy is his kids and his whole life was lived for them. He always knew that he was meant to be a father and felt that was his life’s purpose and he always did whatever he could with what he had and worked very hard to be the very best father he could be.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Wife Tanna Morris, daughter Stacie Morris, son Brian Morris, grandson Brian Szymchack, granddaughter Haley Cook, sister Betty Lambert, brothers Clifford Morris, Garland Morris, Charles Morris, Phillip Morris, Kenneth Morris, Thomas Morris, and Virgil Morris.

Allen is survived by his daughters Theresa (Eugene) Szymchack of Kalkaska, MI, Alecia Corley of Cordell, OK, and Step-Daughter Tammy Galtieri-Cook of Kuna, ID.; Sons David (Leigh) Morris of Baker City, OR, Allen (Donita) Morris, Jr. of Highwood, MT, and Step-Son’s Jess Cook of Nampa, ID and Thomas (Mona) Cook of Richland, OR.; sisters Ann (Bob) Arends of Baker City, OR, Deloris (Buddy) Wilcutt of Independence, Missouri.; grandchildren Christi Emerling, Joshua Morris, Taylor Morris, Adam Lowry, Blake Morris, Ashley Whitting, Allen Morris III, Krystina Morris, Holly Morris, Ellis Grissom, Alexander Grissom, Caleb Szymchack, McKenzie Szymchack, McKenna Olson, Cheyenne Peterson, Gabriella Galtieri, Hailey Williamson and Bristol Cook; many great-grandchildren; Best little buddy & great-grandson, Patrick Pierson; and his most dedicated & loyal canine companion Gizmo.
