Marguerite "Margie" Lee

June 19, 2022

Marguerite “Margie” Lee passed away in the early hours on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, MT. She was 78. Margie was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Alberta Lovcik and her father, Herbert Ernest Lovcik. She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Jo Lee of Santa Barbara, CA, Roberta Ann Emerson, and Cheryl Lynn Lee Nelson, both of Great Falls, MT; her grandchildren, Noelle (Devon) Lee, Austin (Marissa Sederlin) Nelson, Brigit Lee Nelson; and her great-grandchildren, Xander and Gracelynn Lee.
Margie had a quick-wit and great sense of humor. She never took crap from anyone, and most people loved that about her. She worked hard and played hard her entire life.

Her love for her family was endless. She never missed an event they were in no matter what part of the state it was in. She made every holiday a wonderful time for them decorating to the hilt and cooking up a storm. Not once did she miss an opportunity to snap pictures which brought out the funny face in all of us.

Margie loved music and was always singing or dancing. She was an accredited music teacher and played at several churches and other venues throughout town. She was also a bartender, managed The Rainbow Hotel, and co-managed the Cowboys Bar. When her first grandchild was born, she stopped working full time to help with her care, and she started working at the City Bar and the Montana State Fairgrounds. She worked for over 30 years at each of these. She became a die-hard fan of the horse races and never missed the derby on TV except the year she went to Kentucky and got to attend it in person.

A memorial horse race has been planned for her during the last weekend of the races in Great Falls in July 2022. She has been blessed and laid to rest with her mother in the Hillcrest Lawn Mausoleum, Magnolia 121 Tier 1, Great Falls, Montana.
