Dale Glen Hallock, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away and entered the presence of his savior Jesus at age 80 on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Benefis Hospital. He was surrounded by his wife and children.

Dale was born on September 26, 1941, in Glasgow, MT to Glen and Mildred Hallock. He was raised in Opheim, MT until his family moved to Glasgow his senior year of high school, where he graduated in 1959. Dale earned his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Montana in 1962.

It was at UM that he met the love of his life, Linda Branstetter, from Lewistown, MT. They were married in December of 1963 and had a strong and loving marriage for 58 years. Dale adored Linda. Even in his last days, he could be heard asking his kids, “Isn’t your mom a cutie?”

At an early age, Dale’s parents realized that he was a very talented musician. Music was one of his passions all his life. Dale was a gifted euphonium player and band director and taught music for 58 years. He taught at Medicine Lake, Scobey, Glendive, Billings Senior, and the University of Great Falls.

Dale and Linda were blessed with three children, Karla, Chris, and Kelly. He was a wonderful father to them, and he experienced so much joy in his relationships with his kids, their spouses, and all his grandkids. Weekly conversations filled with listening, laughter, advice, and stories were the norm. His kids were his best friends.

Dale’s other passions were bird hunting, fishing, camping, and boating. Dale was a “dead-eye” with a shotgun, and he loved spending time with family and friends in the Montana outdoors.

In his last years, Dale took great joy playing in the Great Falls Municipal Band, in low brass ensembles, and in teaching private lessons. Dale also loved connecting with his extended family and friends.

Dale loved his Lord Jesus. He considered it his duty to pray for his loved ones and friends every morning and evening.

Dale is survived by his wife, Linda Hallock of Great Falls, MT; sister, Carol (Dale) Waniata of Helena, MT; daughter, Karla (James) Rogers of Great Falls, MT; son, Chris (Karri) Hallock of Laurel, MT; daughter, Kelly (Shawn) Evans of Katy, TX; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Mildred Hallock; and his brother, Clair Hallock.

A memorial celebration of Dale’s life will take place on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairview Baptist Church (4428 2nd Ave. N, Great Falls, Montana) with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Great Falls Municipal Band in his honor (PO. Box 1894, 525 Central Ave. Suite L9, Great Falls Mt, 59401).
