Phillip David Crawford

October 7, 1979 - June 26, 2022

We lost a kind, caring, and amazing man on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Phillip David Crawford went to be with his Lord and Savior at the too young age of 42. During those few, short years he was a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a husband, a father, and a special friend.

He was born on October 7, 1979, the youngest of seven siblings - all boys with the exception of one girl. This only sister prayed every day for the new baby to be a girl but, alas, it was not to be. Although she was sad, his sister was still happy, along with the rest of the family, to welcome a precious, new member. He stole the hearts of his much older siblings as well as many others with his sweet smile and adorable, blonde curls. He loved everyone he met, and he was never afraid to show that love through acts of kindness.

His parents divorced when he was still very young but that didn't stop them from giving Phillip what he needed and even, sometimes, what he wanted. His father's family owned a ranch near Carter, MT with cows and Apaloosa horses. When Phillip was six, he was given his own Shetland pony. He named it Sunshine and spent a lot of time riding his pony and helping his dad and uncle work on the ranch. With his mom and older siblings there were a lot of visits to Glacier National Park and fun outings to Ryan's Dam and Giant Springs State Park. And when his mom was working, his older siblings took care of him. He never had to wonder if he was loved.

By the age of seven, his oldest brother was in the Air Force and his sister was married with a baby of her own. Phillip was an amazing uncle. He was only six years older than his first nephew, but he loved it when he was called Uncle Phil. He had endless energy and imagination that he used to entertain his younger family members for hours and always without complaint. The family moved to Sandpoint, ID in 1987 and this is where he would meet the man who would become and remains to this day his stepfather. However, he did remain very close to his own father until his death in 1998.

He met the woman who would become his wife when he was 21. They dated for ten years before finally tying the knot, much to the delight of his family. Sadly, after three years of wedded bliss she would pass away from a rare lung disorder. Phillip had dedicated his life to her and cared for her until the very end.

In 2017, he once again found love after meeting someone through a mutual friend. He fell for her hard and accepted her and her daughters as his own. In 2019, they added to their small family with the birth of a third daughter. She was the light of Phillip's life. No matter how bad his day was, just seeing her or talking to her on the phone his girl could always put a smile on his face. He loved being a Daddy to all of them.

Phillip's passion lay with mechanics. He could fix anything from a child's bicycle to a full-sized truck and he learned it all by himself with no fancy schooling. Unfortunately, his health would not allow him to do this work full-time. He did find cooking to be a honorable substitute though and worked at several Great Falls and Missoula area restaurants. He loved his job and was always willing to showcase his talent by preparing everything from a fried egg sandwich to a five-course meal.

Phillip may be gone, but he leaves behind a huge family and many friends who will miss him dearly. Starting with his mother and stepfather, Nancy and Terry Giles of Great Falls; siblings, Michael (Shannon) Taylor of Okotoks, AB, Canada, Gregory Taylor of Covington, GA, Cindy Sell of Great Falls, and Bradley (Tammie) Taylor of Billings; daughters, Chrystal Ray, Chloe Carrier, and Chylo Crawford all of Great Falls; nephews, Alex Cotton of Pullyup, WA, Shawn (Amber) Cotton of Great Falls, Stephen (Kelsey) Cotton of Lolo, Andrew (Toni) Hetland, Missoula, Lucas Sell and Ethan (Raven) Sell both of Great Falls, and Logan Taylor of Okotoks, AB, Canada; great-nephews, Kaiden Cotton, Joey Entler, and Cameron Chaon all of Great Falls; nieces, Saydi and Brooklynn Taylor both of Okotoks, AB, Canada; great-nieces, Sabrina Corby and Hailey Schoby both of Great Falls, Kinley Cotton of Drummond, Addyson Cotton of Pullyup, WA, and Ariyah and Elliana Sell both of Great Falls; and finally, a very special friend, Kimberly Carrier of Great Falls.

We will forever love and miss Phillip, but he is not alone. He was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by his father, Wesley Crawford; wife, Suzanne Crawford; siblings, Rodney Crawford and Douglas Taylor; and finally, his son, Christian Crawford who although never got to meet his daddy, they will now spend eternity together.
