About Our Mission

Big Hearts In Big Sky Country

WHO WE ARE

Big Sky Country is a beautiful place.

But for an increasing number of our neighbors, rising unemployment, drugs, alcohol, gambling addictions and a lack of affordable housing can make living here a tremendous challenge. We assist our residents in setting long-term goals and helping them move towards a positive direction in their lives.

At Great Falls Rescue Mission, we meet needs lovingly, and provide spiritual guidance to help the homeless find a purpose and a place to belong. For those who are hungry, homeless, or in need, Great Falls Rescue Mission serves as a Beacon of Hope and renewal. We are committed to meet the spiritual, physical and mental needs of men, women and children.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

Meet Jim McCormick

Our Executive Director

Great Falls Rescue Mission (GFRM) experienced a great deal of change over the past several years. Someone once said, “The only sure thing in this life is change.” From Jim Kizer’s retirement to the loss of a close friend and colleague, Arden Sunwall, and then the COVID-19 pandemic, it has truly been several years of change. Our board and staff continue to forge ahead, looking to the author and perfecter of our faith, Jesus Christ. Through it all, our staff continues to share their love for Jesus with our residents daily.

My journey in ministry at GFRM began when Eric Burger announced his departure as the Executive Director in 2009. I sensed the Lord’s call into Rescue Mission ministry and subsequently joined the team in 2011 as the Development Director/Facilities Manager. During the planning stages for the Cameron Family Center, the need for an Operations Director was evident. With an extensive background in management, I assumed that role for 6 years.

GFRM continues to provide a safe and healing environment for those in need of a place to stay, grow and transform. In the year ahead, we will continue moving forward, defining and improving programs and services so that we can be the best that God wants us to be. GFRM leadership continues to diligently work on our strategic plan and goals. We prayerfully and humbly strive to secure our finances and the future.
We live in an amazingly supportive community and see daily donations in the way of food, clothing, financial gifts, etc. Whenever I get a little discouraged, all I do is look in the freezer. I am reminded and know in my heart that our Lord and Savior is in control and furthering His Kingdom.

Many thanks to each and every one of you for supporting YOUR Great Falls Rescue Mission!

With great gratitude,

Jim McCormick
